


(Chapter 2005-311 Laws of Florida, Acts of 2005, House Bill 939, Section 3.1) The Airport District Board meets the 4th Wednesday of each month, at 9:00 a.m. The Airport District Board members serve 4-year terms and are subject to a term limitation of 2 terms. Of the board, 2 members of the Airport District are appointed by the City Commission of Panama City, 2 members are appointed by the Board of Bay County Commissioners, 2 members are appointed by the City Council of Panama City Beach, and 1 member is appointed by the Board of County Commissioners of Walton County. The Airport District consists of 7 persons, 6 of whom are citizens and residents of Bay County, and 1 of whom is a citizen and resident of Walton County. The Airport District was created for the purpose of acquiring, constructing, improving, financing, operating and maintaining airport projects and any other development of land owned or leased by the district and necessary to the economic welfare of the inhabitants of the district and which will promote the economic, commercial and industrial development of the district.

The Panama City-Bay County Airport and Industrial District (Airport District) is an authority created and established as a political subdivision by Special Act of the Florida Legislature in 1945.
